Check out the support offered by the Ministry of Security to single mothers in vulnerable economic situations!
Motherhood is certainly quite complicated for mothers, especially single mothers. While some share their responsibilities with fathers, single mothers often end up on their own. It's difficult to balance work responsibilities with the needs of children, especially if they are young.
Single mothers often face difficult situations in supporting their children. Many people who request this financial assistance are divorcing their spouses or escaping domestic violence. Help can be provided regardless of the reason the mother became single.
With that in mind, stay tuned and read more about Financial Aid for Single Mothers, one of our articles designed to help this group.
Safety for single mothers
The Mexican government, through the Social Security Secretariat, offers bimonthly economic assistance of 1,600 pesos to single mothers or single fathers who work in childcare.
Through the social program "Support for the Well-being of Children of Working Mothers," they indicated that the objective of the aid is "to ensure that working mothers and single fathers have more opportunities to obtain or retain employment without neglecting their children, and to contribute to the well-being of minors in the country.".
For parents to receive the subsidy, their children must be between 0 and 4 years old and receive 1,600 pesos every 2 months; for children with disabilities the age limit is 0 to 6 years and they receive 3,600 pesos every two months.
